Our virtual ring showcase features pieces from our 999 silver collections, made with the highest possible silver content (99.9% pure silver). This maximizes resistance to oxidation and tarnish, since the main cause of tarnishing in silver jewelry is the presence of copper in the alloy (copper is typically added to give silver jewelry extra strength). By taking copper out of the equation, your rings — while slightly more delicate — become highly resistant to tarnishing, and unless the piece is exposed to a chemical reaction, it will keep its natural color for life. Remember, pure silver is a naturally occurring element.

We also work with 935 silver, or Argentium. This is technically an alloy, containing 93.5% pure silver — but what makes it special is that the rest of the formula contains far less copper. In fact, it's a secret, patented formula created by Peter Johns of Middlesex University in London. This master jeweler incorporated Germanium into the alloy at a specific ratio (which he patented). This new element essentially coats the copper molecules also present in the alloy, isolating them from contact with oxygen (copper is one of the most highly oxidizable elements upon contact with oxygen). Copper can also cause chemical reactions — and allergies — on contact with skin, which is why copper jewelry is never recommended for direct wear.

Finally, we use the most well-known silver alloy of all: 925, or sterling. This is silver that's been recycled (never mined) to bring it back to its highest purity, then re-blended in precise proportions during the casting of each design.
